Yellowstone National Park
This national park is less than 2 hours drive from the Teton Valley, and while driving to Yellowstone, you will see the wondrous Grand Teton Mountain Range. Yellowstone is the first and the oldest national park in the world. You will see about 10,000 hot springs and geysers here, and its human history dates back some 12,000 years. It is a home for the bison, elk, wolf and grizzly bear, and is considered to be one of the largest undisturbed temperate zone ecosystems that are left on the planet.
Grand Teton National Park
The Grand Teton is only about 50 minutes away from Teton Valley and the drive is just as scenic. This park encompasses about 310,000 acres, the Jackson Hole valley, the Teton Range, a part of the Snake River, several other lakes and huge numbers of plants and wildlife. About 4 million visitors come to the park each year, and they engage in different activities such as hiking, camping, fishing, bird and wildlife watching, boating, and bicycling to name a few.
Grand Targhee Ski Resort
The Grand Targhee is found in the Caribou-Targhee National Forest and is seen as the main gateway for both the Yellowstone and Grand Teton Parks. It offers fun activities in the summer such as mountain biking, hiking and swimming, and it is an ideal place to go skiing in winter.
The South Fork of the Snake River
This river is only half an hour drive from Teton Valley. It is considered to be one of the best places to go wild trout fishing and to try the ever popular fly fishing.
Of course, these are only a few of the many other places in Teton Valley where you can hike, climb, camp, fish, go horse-back riding, or simply to relax and enjoy.
