The Teton Valley government constantly comes up with projects that will benefit its constituents. The main components of the Teton Valley government policy are as follows:
- Establishing property right policies, restrictions and conditions
- Establishment of school and educational facilities and transportation for children of all ages
- Economic Development which includes opening up opportunities for industries, employment, and income
- Proper land use - setting land jurisdictions for agriculture, preservation, housing, recreation, commerce, industry and public facilities
- Maintenance of special area and sites that have archaeological, historical, ecological, scenic or wildlife significance
- Management of the area's rich natural resources from the rivers, forests, mountains and soils, to the wildlife and minerals
- Making transportation more convenient to its residents through building of road systems and establishment of affordable transportation options for commuters
- Management of Hazardous Areas which may be susceptible to ground failures, faulting, landslides, or avalanche
- Public Facilities, Utilities and Services - setting up plans for drainage, sewage, water supply, health and welfare, libraries, schools, fire stations, civic centers etc
- Maintaining locations tourism and recreation such as parks, trail ways, playgrounds and parks
- Community Design and analysis of the community's needs
- Implementation of Projects that are needed for the benefit of its residents
The Teton Valley government is intent on maintaining the agricultural and recreational nature of the community. Through all its projects, the valuable natural assets of the area is considered as top priority - that is, the scenic mountains, vistas, open space, wetlands, and the small town characteristic should not be disturbed in any way.
